Chris is in Damaraland

We had some travel and some traditional safari today.  We flew 2 hours north in our favorite small plane to Damaraland. The landscape is quite different here - it is very rocky and mountainous as opposed to the red sand in the south.

We are staying at Damaraland Lodge which is equally as nice as Hoodia Lodge. It has a similar setup with small huts/tents which are quite luxurious inside.

In the afternoon, we did a quick safari to find elephants. These are "Desert" elephants which just means they are savannah elephants which have adapted to needing much less water.

Dinner last night at Hoodia Lodge was oryx meat. It was quite tasty and more similar to beef than venison. We did feel kinda bad eating Trevor's spirit animal.

Tomorrow we get up early to go Rhino trekking.
