Hear me out... merit badges for adults... with the first one being "Drove to JFK at rush hour on a Friday." After listening to 4 songs and still being 55 minutes away, I was beginning to worry that I would not make my flight. Alas, I did make it and am currently sitting in the Admirals Club in Miami.
For obvious reasons, it's been awhile since I've traveled. I'm on my way to Easter Island by way of Santiago, Chile. I was last in Santiago with Butch several years ago. The only way I could get him to go was to lie to him about how long the flight is. "It's just a couple of hours from Miami," I told him. After about 4 hours, he asked if this is the flying equivalent of "it's just a few blocks walk."
Easter Island is part of Chile so this trip does not add any new countries. It's a 5 hour flight from Santiago and the last time we were in the area we opted for the salt flats in Bolivia instead of Easter Island.
