We started our touring at 6 this morning to see Saigon by vintage sidecar.
The idea with starting so early was to get out before the traffic gets bad. Light traffic conditions lasted about 20 minutes. I think you'd have to get up much earlier to experience light traffic in Saigon. It is curb-to-curb scooters and motorcycles with the occasional bicycle and car mixed in to keep it interesting.
The first part of the tour was mostly a repeat of the district 1 sites we saw yesterday.
But then we went over to some of the other districts to explore the floating market, the flower market and the park where people take their birds out for fresh air.
We had Vietnamese coffee in the bird park
And then some incredible pho with beef on the sidewalk. The kitchen is on the other side of the street so she has to carry the bowls across the crazy Vietnamese traffic to serve us.
This afternoon we fly to Phu Quoc Island, our final stop on this tour. We have a few days of relaxing at the beach before we start the long journey home.
A few things from last night...
We had a special dinner arranged as a gift from Jacada. It was just ok.
The Saigon version of Uber is Grab and uses motorbikes instead of cars. You can tell them from their distinctive green helmets.
