Chris and Henry drink sake and eat noodles

The hotel has a treasure hunt game for kids.  Some of the women on the staff have special stickers. If you collect 5 stickers then you win a prize.  So far, Henry has collected 1 sticker.  He keeps forgetting to ask.

The hotel also has a tea house which converts to a sake tasting house in the evening.  Henry and I went to the sake tasting last night.  Of course, he remembers to ask the lady serving us the sake for a sticker.  She had no stickers and reminded us that they don't get a lot of kids for sake tasting.

How was the sake?  Henry didn't really care for it.  In my defense, taking him to the sake tasting seemed preferable to leaving him alone in the hotel.

We decided to have noodles for dinner.  There's a ramen alley on the 10th floor of Kyoto Station.

We stood around watching people until we figured out that you order and pay with those machines and then give your ticket to the person when you sit down.

As you can see from Henry's face, we didn't really care for our noodles.  They were cold and the broth had a funny taste. The dumplings were good though.

Today is our lazy day.  We don't have a schedule.

Fortified with our blueberry, mango and orange smoothies, the plan is to take the train to Nara to see the deer park.
