Rain in paradise

Yesterday afternoon went something like this:

eat ceviche
drink Dirty Banana
read
bike
swim (because jungle + bike)
sit on the beach
read in the hammock on my porch
eat dinner
drink at the bar
watch YouTube videos
read
finish Stranger Things Season 2

I watched Stranger Things alone in my bungalow, under the mosquito netting, during a hellacious thunder and lightning storm.  Seems like an appropriate setting for Stranger Things.

This morning was overcast so I went kayaking.  The water is so calm here because the island is protected from waves by the barrier reef.  It's also part of a national park so there are very few boats and no jet skis. 

On my way back in, I went quite far out to the reef

I changed it up this afternoon for lunch.  I walked down the beach to Rojos which has great drinks and a Belize-Asian fusion menu.   They also have these fruit pops served in a glass of rum.  Never a bad idea.

Rojos also has fun signs featuring Minions and SpongeBob wearing a pirate hat.  Because? Why not?

I expect this afternoon to be a lot like yesterday.  Taking it slow and easy.
