So... the trip to visit Guatemala and Belize is off to an inauspicious start.
For starters, I'm going on this trip alone. Poor Butch has been suffering from an inner ear problem that causes sudden and debilitating vertigo attacks. He's decided to stay home for an intense few weeks of acupuncture treatments and because he does not trust me to not leave him in the middle of the Guatemalan jungle if he has an attack during a hike. (He's right).
Next, due to a 6:15 am flight, I've decided to stay the night at the Holiday Inn Express on S. Conduit Ave in Queens. It is exactly as nice as it sounds.
Guatemala and Belize are countries #40 and #41. This trip has a nice mix of hiking, history and relaxing so stay tuned for the updates.
I've secured all my things on every bed bug impervious spot in the room so I'm off to bed now. Next update from Latin America.
