On our way home

At the airport.  Another excellent trip.  I feel weird writing about my trip given yet another tragic shooting but it just reminds me that life is short and we should live every day.

Dinner at Dan Tana's was exactly as a I expected - regulars packed into red vinyl booths eating those classic red sauce dishes on red checked table clothes.  Great service. Great crowd.  Great food.

We ordered some classics: spaghetti, ravioli and chicken parm.

The Beverly Wilshire was very nice but showing it's age here and there.  The bed was easily in the top 5 of most comfortable hotel beds ever. Outside seating on Wilshire allows for some good people watching and even better car watching.  I have never seen so many Bentleys and Ferraris outside of the car show.  Very comfortable pool and poolside bar.  Excellent service. Hotel breakfast was disappointing. I always look forward to a good hotel breakfast. If we were to return we'd probably include a night at the beach in addition to staying in Beverly Hills.

The rest of the awards:

Best Meal: Dan Tana's (Butch), Otium (Chris)
Best Activity: Car Museum (Butch), Beach (Chris).  Beach was a close second for Butch.
Best Bus Driver Ever: Hertz Airport Shuttle Bus Driver. We are still laughing.
Most Bizarre Thing: The Levitating Mass. Easily.

Lessons Learned: If the restaurant does not use a reservation service (e.g. OpenTable) then confirm by phone multiple times before the actual date of the reservation.

That's it.  Stay tuned for our next trip which will be either late October or early December.
