Cars and Architecture

We started off the morning with a 2 mile walk on Wilshire Blvd from our hotel to the Petersen Automotive Museum.  We thought the walk would be nice. It wasn't really. Typical CA road.  A lot of car dealerships and strip malls. Not a lot of charm.

Along the way, we stopped to see some public art, Levitated Mass and Urban Light, because Art!

That's me standing under the aforementioned mass.  I look small because the boulder is 340 tons.

The Petersen was really good. I was not expecting much at all. The had a lot of interesting cars running the gamut from concept, to rare, to historical, from the movies, to fantastically painted. There was an entire Bugatti exhibition on the first floor.  We spent over 2 hours at this museum.

Here's Butch explaining something to me.  There was a lot of that.

After the museum, we wandered through downtown L.A. starting at the Grand Central Market with stops at some of the more amazing buildings in the area and ending with the newly reopened funicular.

We are off to dinner tonight at Otium with my friend Angela.
