Almost perfect travel

The most important tip I can give to any traveler is to have patience. Go with the flow. Expect the unexpected. Something is going to go wrong.  Make lemonade.

We safely arrived in Santiago after a night of nearly perfect travel.  Here's what I mean by perfect: there was the usual traffic to the airport, parking space right next to the crosswalk, the air train switch-to-reverse trick worked perfectly, no one in the security line, Asian chicken noodle soup (my favorite) in the Admirals club, an on time departure from JFK to Miami and watched the Yankees win from the bar at the Miami airport

Perfect.  Right? Except for a slight hiccup in Miami.  After a short layover in Miami, we were getting really tired and looking forward to boarding the plane to sleep for the 8 hour flight south.  We were just about to board when they found an issue with the plane resulting in a 2 hour delay.  No big deal. We just went back to the club for another round.

The eventual flight was completely uneventful.  Immigration and customs in Chile is easy except they have a bag scan step in customs.

We are staying at The Singular Hotel in Santiago.  Butch has given it his seal of approval and we all know his high bar for acceptance.  He was telling everyone before we left that we'd probably be staying in a tent.
